Cloudflare down 30mins to 1 hr but when Hostgator down? it’s more than 4 days

That’s right, there’s a server on Hostgator gator4305 and maybe 4304 also, it’s been down since Friday July 17th, and today is July 20th, and it is still down.

So what happen when customer contact Hostgator support? the answer is, “please wait another couple hours” and that’s the answer for 4 days straight. So what happen when customer contact Hostgator support about 98-99% uptime guaranteed? the answer “it was planned maintenance or emergency maintenance” so call controller swap that taken 4 days and counting? So in other word, if you’re looking for compensation for your business site or something no chance of getting any compensation, they will use “emergency maintenance” so nothing for you, next step? sue them! read more

What is a controller swap and why is it taking so long, what are the process involves? well apparently it’s not transparent of what they’re doing that take almost of 24 hours now and still counting, not up yet.

Can we trust cloudflare again?

Today, from approximately 21:12 to 21:39 UTC, a configuration error in our backbone network caused an outage for Internet properties that use Cloudflare. During this period we saw traffic drop by about 50% across our network. Because of the architecture of our backbone this outage didn’t affect the entire Cloudflare network and was localized only to certain geographies.

This service disruption was not the result of an attack. It was caused by a network configuration error which caused traffic across our backbone to be sent to a single router on our global network. This quickly overwhelmed that router and caused Cloudflare network locations connected to the backbone to fail. Other locations not connected to the backbone continued to operate normally.

We have posted an initial summary of this incident on the Cloudflare blog. We’ve already made a change to the backbone configuration to make sure that this cannot happen again.

We’re deeply sorry about how this disruption may have impacted your services. Our business is based on trust and transparency and we are committed to your success.

It was probably a mistake the seller listed it cheap with free shipping, I just checked and it appear the shipping is about $25 LOL, I got a great deal though, but I’m not sure if it will work yet.

Profession Industry Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switch 63A 110V Toggle Switch

Yeah I know there’s already a device for this purpose. My goal to get the power automatically transferred to power company when solar battery drained, but the device cost $500 are you kidding me, not worth for my purpose and testing experimenting. read more

The process of removing your MetroPCS high security password?

If you do not remember your MetroPCS high security password then you can only recover or remove it by going to a MetroPCS store, the good news is they’re everywhere now a day.

If you remember your high security password MetroPCS then you can call the customer service # or 611 from your phone and ask them to remove it. However the high security password removed, it will be replaced with your PIN # and a secret question.

This is just to be able to access your metropcs.com account online.

X10 Powerhouse PS561 Personal Voice Dialer Security Console no longer dial out # correctly?

I got an old x10 voice dialer security console sold on ebay, but buyer having problem with it, and it appears to be issue with dial tone. This is a very old console and maybe have to do with the way phone system are working today moving from dial tone to dial tone + v2.0 whatever you call it VOIP causing the issue.

Got the note from the buyer.

Hi, unfortunately, I need to return this console. I used one identical to it for many years, & it started to not call my programmed numbers anymore, or so I thought. So I ordered your new one as a replacement; but the problem is the same as I had with my old one in that it starts dialing the numbers before it gets a dial tone, so calls don’t go through, as the complete nember isn’t being dialed after the phone line establishes the dial tone. I also bought the warranty, so I’ll need a refund on that as well. I’m so sorry! I’ve been programming it over the past week at various times trying to get it to call out. It calls out, but dials prematurely, & I contacted X10 support but they’re unable to offer a solution. Can you please start a return ticket with the address & such for me to return it to? Thanks, & again, I’m sorry! read more

Cloudflare “In the last 30 days, your domain encountered a high percentage of origin server errors (408, 429, 502, 503, 504, 520, 521, 522, 523, 524)”

Is it all because of my web server hosting causing this error message? “In the last 30 days, your domain encountered a high percentage of origin server errors (408, 429, 502, 503, 504, 520, 521, 522, 523, 524)”

This is interesting, I am going to keep my eye open on this, to see if it happening again next month. I do have a lot of websites using cloudflare as https that’s about it, I hope it’s not cloudflare causing this error for free account.

Free account as many know is not always free, there are string attach, for cloudflare https ssl certificate I wonder if cloudflare have restriction such as limit in traffic and prioritization during peak time. Peak time is when a lot of websites being accessed and free account get last priority or in other word will never get accessed because cloudflare prioritize traffic for paid members. I hope that’s not the case, will see next month. read more
