My actual first girl friend

Back in late 1996, I met a girl, her name was Jenny Nguyen, she was living in Sunnyvale California at the time. I met her at the company where I work. She was my first actual girl friend, because although I had many previous girls that I go out with previously but there wasn’t any real intimate relationship. We broke up a year later. She was older than me.

I graduated from Independence High School in 1995

I didn’t do quite well in High School, but I think most of my classes are college prep class so I am still proud that I graduated. Many Vietnamese my peers, they took ESL (english second language) class and got A’s grade. However I think I learned more taken all advanced courses although I didn’t get A’s grade, maybe C’s and D’s.

I’m glad that I graduated from High School but I didn’t attend the High School graduation ceremony though, never attend any school dance either. read more

We left Vietnam in the late 1980s maybe 1986 or 1987

I don’t remember when we left Vietnam exactly, but seems to be from 1984 to 1986, since I remember we got the USA in San Jose back in 1987 then encountered the big California Earthquake back in 1989.

My father and I and 11 other relatives left Vietnam on a rainy cold night about 10PM to a small family fishing boat, battling the bad weather for 13 days nights. We got rescued by an oil rig ship brought us to Malaysia refugee camp.

Trần Quốc Thông was born

Trần Quốc Thông was born on July 9th 1976, about 10PM or so.

In Vietnam, Việt Nam, Huyện Gò Công Tây, Tỉnh Tiền Giang, Ấp Tân Hương, Xả Tân Thới. Basically a country side of Vietnam, outside of Saigon HCMC (Ho Chi Minh City). From a peasant family, my dad was the youngest and mom was also the youngest. 1976 was the first year after the Fall of Saigon back in 1975. Most if not everyone was suffering live with what they have after the war.
